I am so
thrilled to be a part of the ACMS team, I am excited to work closely with your
middle schoolers and teach them American Sign Language.  ASL is a complex and beautiful language that
has over 2 million users.  I first
learned ASL on my mission to Columbus, OH where I worked with the deaf
community and had a deaf companion.
After my mission I went to SLCC for deaf studies.  After
school I went to work at the School for the deaf and blind.  I worked in
an all deaf classroom and interpreted for these kids as they were integrated
into their hearing classes.  When I moved
to Fremont I taught several beginning/ intermediate ASL classes at the
community center and at my church.  Currently I interpret for church and
run into a few deaf people here and there but long to sign more often.  I
love the language and feel really blessed to have the opportunity to share it
with the amazing kids at ACMS.
